Leak detection and pipe repair in Escondido and North County
A wet floor, a dripping pipe under the house or a water bill that suddenly climbs may point to a plumbing leak, but the visible water is not always where the leak started. True Plumbing inspects the plumbing, explains what we find and gives you repair options before work begins. We are based in Escondido and serve nearby North County and San Diego County communities during our regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Find the source before opening up more of the home
A leak now? If you can reach the main shutoff safely, turn off the water and call (760) 637-5355. You can also request an appointment. Do not enter a flooded or unsafe crawl space yourself.
Leak detection and practical repairs
We investigate water leaks in accessible supply lines and plumbing connections, including under-home and wall-area leaks. The right next step depends on where the water is coming from, the pipe material and the condition of the surrounding plumbing. A localized failed section may need a sectional repair; repeated leaks or widespread pipe damage may call for a broader discussion about whole-home repiping. We do not recommend a repipe from one symptom alone.
A technician can explain the findings, the scope of any access needed, and the repair estimate on site. If a separate valve is also dripping, that is a separate finding to discuss rather than proof it caused the original leak.
A recent Escondido under-home repair
On September 28, 2026, an Escondido homeowner called about water leaking under the home. True Plumbing technician Delfino Rojas Chavez inspected the accessible crawl-space piping and found a pinhole leak in a half-inch copper line. After the homeowner approved the estimate, he replaced the damaged section with a new copper section and two couplings. His closeout note says he tested for leaks and proper function and found no leak at the new repair. He also noted a separate dripping main gate valve and discussed a possible ball-valve replacement; that valve replacement was not part of this completed repair.

When to call
Call if you see active water under a sink or home, damp areas near plumbing, a recurring wet spot, or unexplained water use. Turning off the water when safe can limit damage while you arrange an inspection. Do not assume every leak needs a whole-house repipe; the source and pipe condition should guide that choice.
Call (760) 637-5355 or book a plumbing visit. Our office is at 748 S Vinewood St, Suite C, Escondido, CA 92029. Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM; closed Saturday and Sunday.
Common questions
Can you repair a pinhole leak in a copper line?
Sometimes a damaged section can be replaced without repiping the entire home. We inspect the pipe and nearby connections before recommending a repair. In the Escondido job above, a sectional copper repair was completed and tested.
Does water under the house always mean a slab leak?
No. A leak may be in visible crawl-space piping, a valve or another connection. The source needs to be located before choosing a repair.
Will you give me a price before the repair?
Yes. After inspection, we explain the proposed scope and estimate before work begins. The exact price depends on access and what needs repair; this page does not promise a fixed price.
